Stage 1
Data cleansing
Devices are cleared of previous data and restored to factory settings so the next owner starts fresh.
Company
Renewed devices go through many individual steps—often dozens—before they are graded and listed. We group that work into four clear stages so you know what “refurbished” means on Recyclex.
The steps mirror what leading marketplaces describe for professional refurbishment—grouped for clarity, executed in detail on every unit we list.
Overview
Stage 1
Devices are cleared of previous data and restored to factory settings so the next owner starts fresh.
Stage 2
After thorough testing, parts that fail or are worn are repaired or replaced so performance and safety meet our listing standards.
Stage 3
Cosmetic wear is addressed where practical—cleaning, minor refinishing—so the device presents consistently with its grade.
Stage 4
A final pass confirms function, accessories, and appearance, then the unit is graded and published on Recyclex with accurate photos and description.
In detail
In most cases, refurbishment is carried out by experienced partners we work with regularly. We review capabilities and consistency so customers get the same expectations across categories.
Partners source pre-owned inventory in volume—from trade-in programmes, businesses, and other established channels. Once devices arrive, the renewal workflow above begins.
Each device is wiped of old data and reset so personal information does not carry over to the next owner.
Where testing shows a fault, individual components are swapped or repaired so the device behaves as it should before it is sold.
Visible signs of use are reduced or documented honestly, aligned with the condition grade you see on the product page.
After approval, the device is offered on Recyclex with warranty-backed terms, clear grading, and shipping from our Hong Kong dispatch flow.
